1966 Wards Riverside 125 cafe racer for sale.

Sweet little bike. Kinda rare. Imported from Italy and sold by Montgomery Wards in the states in the sixties. Runs, drives, and stops. 1,852 original miles.
Original owners manual and a  blank Certificate of Origin included in sale. No title . Bill of sale only. [I  don’t think this bike has ever actually been registered.]
This bike appears to have been stored properly for the majority of its life. It’s only sign of age is a little bit of fading and surface rust here and there. The tank is near perfect (meaning no dents), but is faded and rusty is spots as well.
I do have the front fender and original handlebars, but not the original seat. The bars, levers, grips, peg rubbers and cables are new. Other than that, the bike is 100% original. Nothing has been repainted or modified in any way. The seat is from an old Harley Davidson Aermacchi and is in near perfect condition. It alone is probably worth around $500.
The bike needs a battery and a slight throttle cable adjustment to be road worthy. There’s also a handlebar kill switch that I have neglected to reinstall properly on the handlebars. [It’s just kinda hanging out within the triple clamp area—I could probably just reattach it already. There’s another kill switch on the headlight that works just fine.] Oh, and tires. Please do not attempt to ride this bike with the tires that are on it as I am pretty sure they are original as well. Like 53 years old original. I would NOT trust them at any speed.
I bought this bike a couple of years ago as a project [something to tinker on] with no real intention of ever putting it on the road. It’s been more of a display piece for me than anything, keeping me company in my garage.
These bikes closely resembles the Ducati singles of the same era. A lot of the parts found on it [like the muffler] are actually the same parts used by Ducati back in the 60’s. Pretty cool.
Feel free to ask questions and please reference the pictures for details.
I have this bike for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.
Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping, whichever the case may be. I am more than happy to ASSIST with shipping if need be.
