1980 Honda CX500D Cafe Racer bobber

1980 Honda CX500D Cafe Racer. Bare bones cafe racer, nothing on this bike that isn’t needed. This makes for a clean bike style with perfect design lines. I left alot of the surfaces unpainted because I like the Mad Max feel. It stands out and is a attention getter. Always get asked about it. Wheels, engine, tank and rider, that’s it. Really just what is needed to be legal. Engine is strong and starts right up, no smoke, no leaks.

The engine is rare for Honda, a longitudinally V-twin, similar to the Moto Guzzi layout. My opinion, this is THE engine design for a cafe racer build. It is hard to miss those cylinder heads sticking out at 10 and 2.The shock is off a Ducati Monster 750 620 Rear Shock and is adjustable, I am 200 Lbs. and it sits nice with the preload up. lighter riders have plenty of adjustment. New Shinko tires. Tank has leather strip down the middle and wrap on the sides, the wrap has a few wrinkles.
