Yamaha SR500 Cafe Racer, bought this bike on eBay in 2012 from the second owner for a cafe racer build and have worked on it off and on since then and even though it is very close to being completely finished, I have lost interest…started as a very nice stock bike with 13,xxx miles, has since been modified with a late 80s gsxr750 front fork and triple tree assembly, Motolanna aluminum swingarm and new Mikes XS rear shocks, Ducati monster twin Brembo calipers and rotors, Brembo rear caliper with stock re-surfaced and drilled rotor, Galfer stainless brake lines on front and rear, front and rear wheels have been powder coated semigloss black and new bearings installed, front wheel is 18” from an SR400, new Avon tires front and rear, new PBI sprockets and gold EK cahin, Suzuki GS450E fuel tank with modified frame tunnel and mounts and Pingel fuel valve, all new shorter custom built Motion-Pro cables and throttle assembly, custom made and heat wrapped head pipe with Dime City Customs stainless steel muffler, has aftermarket oil cooler with Kedo rocker oil feed hose kit, Mikuni vm36 with aluminum velocity stack, motor is supposed to be a 540 big bore according to previous owner (I never had the motor apart to confirm this but he did give me a receipt dated in the 1980s from White Brothers in California for a big bore piston and carb kit), Airtech fiberglass seat cowl with led taillight mounted underneath and closed cell 3/4” thick pad for a seat glued on, Kedo capacitor/battery eliminator was used, led bar end turn signals (I think the flasher relay is bad as one side signal lights up but doesn’t blink and the other side doesn’t light at all), headlight and taillight/stoplight work great, horn also works but is not loud at all probably just a bad horn, the frame is just brush painted black now as the next part of the project was to tear it down to tidy up welds on the frame and have it powder coated and paint the engine, the fuel tank is in original paint with dings and scratches and the seat cowl is just spray painted to a close color of the tank…the bike runs like a beast with crazy power for what it is and handles and stops amazing as well, I am selling it as is due to not having put more than maybe 10 to 15 miles on it the few times I have had it out on the road in the last number of years to work out any bugs that may pop up, but I feel it should be just fine to ride as it is now or go the next step to finish the things I have not and make it perfect…I do have a clean title for the bike and will help with loading or whatever is needed if the buyer should decide to ship the bike…Feel free to as any questions
