You will NOT see yourself coming or going on this Cafe’ style racer. This is built with all new and the finest of parts. It started out as a 2012 883XL Sportster SuperLow. Just finding this model was tough, as it’s one of only TWO Harley Sportsters with a 17″ rear tire. (The other is the 1200cc version). That with the 18″ front, give it a special stance to begin with. It has 1,800 miles on it and is in factory new condition. Guaranteed to get looks as if you were on a 30k custom. This bike is a fun canyon carver. I get more thumbs up on this bike than I do on my Panhead!
The basis for this build as said, is a 2012 Sportster 883cc XL SuperLow. I picked it up for $4,000.00. It had 800 miles on the odometer. The cafe kit and other parts were $3,000.00. Add that to the chosen Sporty and you have a general price tag on the entire project which totals to $7,000.00, NOT including labor. So doing the math you can see that you’re getting a hell of a deal, as my reserve is way lower than the 7k. Btw, I have receipts for EVERYTHING.
As far as engine work, it was minimal. Other than the race pipes and the Joker Machine air cleaner, the engine is factory stock. The exhaust pipes are made by Vance and Hines. The system is made for both torque and sound. Lastly, a Cobra Fi2000 PowerPro Tuner was installed to make it all come together, power wise.
The fairing is made by Harley, and houses the HD combo analog tachometer/digital speedometer. It also shows the gear the transmission is in and indicates fuel level. It lights up like the Tokyo skyline! The gators or pleated fork boots are from J&P cycles. The forks have a Progressive 2 inch lowering kit installed. The fork brace / fender is custom designed and built. The handlebars are Clubmans . The five hole levers are from J&P also. The contrast cut brake cylinder cover and the rest of the similar contrast cut pieces (derby cover, inspection cover, and timer cover) are all made by Landmark Machine. This is a theme used on the cafe racer for aesthetics only. Speaking of aesthetics, the front fork sliders are powder coated RED to pick up on the red rear coil spring, the red lettering and stripe. The front and rear calipers are also powder coated red. The whole paint scheme really comes off nicely.
The gas tank is factory. A race style gas cap tops it off. The decal is aftermarket which ties in the race look because the checkered flag goes well with the number plates in the far rear.
The shifter controls and the brake controls are billet pieces made by Chainsycle. They flip everything backwards, but the shifting pattern is still one down, four up. The brake cylinder is turned around 180° so that the plunger enters from the rear. The pegs are knurled pieces made by Arlen Ness. The brake lines are made by Magnum, and are a black flexible stainless steel.
The seat assembly is made by RSD and integrates the fiberglass boat tail and the Mustang vinyl seat together. The rear shocks are Burly Stilettos and offer great stable handling out back .
The rear brake light is made by RYCA. It’s an LED unit that incorporates the running light, brake light and directionals. All lights which include the directionals (front and rear), hi-beams, gauges & brakes; and all other electrics work perfectly as they should. The bike comes w/ a fistful of receipts, a repair manual and some extra parts. Contact me for more pics or info. In Florida: 603 three 7 zero-17two6
