1997 SUZUKI TL1000S – “SAKE-RACER”
CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IN HAND
This bike started life as a neglected 97, we tore the entire bike down to frame and started its transformation from a blank slate. We mixed and matched parts from other bikes to create this cafe racer much like the humble beginnings of these bikes.
From the front of the bike, we started by fitting a Triumph speed triple headlight and fly screen. Gauges were sourced from a Suzuki GSXR 600. The forks are the standard TLS, front fender from a Yamaha R6, wheels from a Yamaha R1. The fuel tank is a TLS but was heavily modified to work with the Yamaha R6 tail conversion. The belly pan is a Suzuki SV1000S. Lastly the exhaust is a 1 off exhaust made by Dan Toce of Toce Performance.
The finish work on the frame / forks / swing arm / sub frame is powder coated in a textured black powder. We also have a bunch of gloss black powder coating to accent the 2 tone black look we were looking for. Finally we added some touches of fluorescent yellow to accent calipers / oil cooler guard / and more.
The rear rotary suspension was removed for a Bi-tubo adjustable rear shock.
This bike has a ton of small accessries also.
PSR-USA supplied the levers / bar end mirrors / grips / gas cap / rear master cylander resivour.
Coremoto supplied the front and rear brake lines.
While building this bike we replaced all of the following – steering head bearings / wheel bearings / tires / brake pads / brake lines / chain
Since building this bike we won Rats hole custom bike show’s cafe racer class in Daytona Beach Florida in 2016. We also had the bike featured in Super Street Bike.
Known issues with the bike – in an effort to be 100% transparent with all potential buyers. 1.) gas light, the fuel light is always on 2.) when bike gets to temp idle gets a little lumpy and bike can shut off (currently swapping new TPS in) 3.) front suspension is a little spongy
The bike is available to be viewed by potential buyers, the bike is registered and insured and can be ridden with a purchase and sale agreement signed.
This is a great bike for someone who wants something completely different, this isnt a cookie cutter bike.
Dare to be differant
