Dirk Edge,“ BLACKSQUARE – one of the most beautiful, and one of the most British-looking bikes we’ve seen in a month of high tea Sundays . ” Andrew Jones, This unique motorcycle was designed and built in reverence, and in strict adherence, to the quintessential bobber concept of “Nothing superfluous.” Everything that is not needed for the machine to run has been eliminated. There are no instruments. No blinkers. No switches. No indicator lights. No front fender. No horn. No chain guard. No passenger accommodations. No conveniences. No luxuries. The bike is street legal and registered in NJ. BLACKSQUARE was featured on numerous websites (Pipeburn,Motorcycle Daily,The Manual and many others). If the links above were deleted by eBay (even though they comply with eBay’s policy since these links are “product descriptions”), please google “BLACKSQUARE motorcycle” or go to pipeburn or Bike EFIX and search for BLACKSQUARE. The donor motorcycle was a 1977 HONDA CB550F with 5,024 original miles on it (shown in the photos).  It became BLACKSQUARE two years later.  The bike has been exercised regularly and has been ridden for a total of about 500 miles.  It has been kept under cover in a controlled environment in my garage.  Everything works exactly as it should. The bike comes with many extras, which are included in this auction: a set of 4 new mufflers identical to the ones on the bike (there is nothing wrong with the mufflers currently on the bike; I bought a spare set in case this type of muffler was ever discontinued), a set of spare side covers (all black, without the yellow square on them), a set of new ARIETE grips, a set of new custom-made foot pegs, and bike stands by GPI industries. If the buyer wanted it, I would include a size 40 café racer jacket with its own custom BLACKSQUARE label inside. (The jacket is a vintage genuine BRIMACO from the late 1970’s, completely relined with the finest black Bremberg lining.) If the buyer could pick up the bike, that would be preferred. I can deliver it within 200 miles of zip code 08825.  If the bike is to be shipped, the buyer must make the necessary arrangements. I can, if the buyer requested it, build a custom crate for the bike so there will be no exposure to anything during transportation. And now, the details: ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, IGNITION & EXHAUST: ENGINE : 1977 HONDA CB550. Bead-blasted, completely rebuilt from the bottom up. To avoid misunderstanding, “completely rebuilt” here means that the engine was completely disassembled until no two parts were attached to one another and was then rebuilt starting with an empty lower crankcase.  All wear and tear parts (gaskets, O-rings, oil seals, timing chain tensioner, piston rings, etc.) were replaced with new OEM HONDA parts.CARBURETORS : original KEIHIN, model 069A, completely rebuilt. (“Completely rebuilt” here means the same as above.) VELOCITY STACKS : solid brass, by STEEL DRAGON PERFORMANCE TANK : “Dolphin” by BENJI’S CAFE RACERS.  Painted and clear-coated by TRICKED OUT CYCLES. PETCOCK : new, original HONDA EXHAUST : custom-made stainless-steel headers, EMGO mufflers, custom baffles IGNITION COILS : original HONDA POINTS : new, original HONDA   FRAME & SUSPENSION: FRAME : 1977 HONDA CB550,modified tail section, Powder-coated in black and then clear-coated by TRICKED OUT CYCLES. FRONT SUSPENSION : original HONDA, completely rebuilt. REAR SUSPENSION :by HAGON KICKSTAND : original HONDA with customized lower section to fit around the exhaust.  Chromed.   WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES: WHEELS AND SPOKES :  stainless steel rims (polished to a mirror finish) and spokes by THE DEVON RIM Co.  Imported directly from England. TIRES : Speedmaster MKII by AVON FRONT BRAKE : hub and brake components from a HONDA CL-450. New brake shoes.
