This Honda CB750 1973 was used for Drag Racing in the late 1970s. I have known the owner builder/racer for this bike and he used to race in Central and North Texas back in the day, The bike sat for a couple of years untouched and I decided with the help of John the first owner to restore the bike following the spect, the reason why it was essential to use his knowledge. The journey of rebuilding the CB970 was very interesting and inspiring, now after 10 years in the process with family and work the project sat behind. Maybe I can get back to it in a couple of years or let someone get the inspiring burst. Everything in the engine got rebuilt from scratch the bike started kick or starter, with the option of using a shave magneto for less weight. The motor needs to be break-in, I have started 3 timesThis is mainly for drag races I personally think having the bike street legal might not be a good idea. I don’t have the title but it is all legal.
I have included some original photos from when I purchased the motorcycle and I have a lot of photos and datasheet information the first owner is still alive if you need additional information.
I must have spent 8k + on parts I am not counting labor. The intention for selling or trading this motorcycle is that I am looking for someone that is an enthusiast and understand the purpose of the 970, maybe a vintage drag racer. I am not expecting to get the money and time spent on the motorcycle.
