Selling my 1974 Penton 250 Hare Scrambler garage kept in excellent condition original and preserved as it was when sold, the bike runs strong and everything works, only 770 original miles on the odometer, since I bought this bike the motor was run only with high octane gas and Maxima Castor 927 mixing oil, I maybe used her for 50 miles total. Every component is still original, only work done was carburetor cleanup, gear oil change, spark plug replaced, rear tire replaced. This motorcycle model is definitely a piece of motorcycle history under several perspectives: KTM 1975 pre series, the ’74 was different in several details, colors etc. This at the time this model was outstanding compared to any other builder same year and displacement, the finishing level and quality of workmanship, the magnesium alloy used on many components many of ‘em built in house by KTM and not sourced from several generic suppliers, makes this motorcycle a very interesting bike. In Europe this model was above any other on the market at that time, very expensive, powerful and resistant, good racing results on the Enduro and at ISDT were numerous at the time for this model. My suggestion to any interested buyer is to not buy this motorcycle with intention to restore, this is it. The intrinsic value of this bike is in the good preservation without any sign of major works done anywhere and that everything is worn at an even grade, aesthetic condition is still very good and acceptable, every component is still working properly and the low mileage is reflecting what written above, so please leave her like this. This bike is underpriced considering all the perspective listed above, This is a collectors item that will only become more valuable with time. Will ship this anywhere by a carrier suggested by the buyer, crating and drop to carrier will incur in additional fees. Local pick up available.
