1978 Yamaha XS 650 Special

1978 Yamaha XS 650 Special.  This motorcycle is stock. It is in ‘Very Good Condition.”  It looks great, and runs great. You can keep it as it is or turn it into a street tracker, cafe racer, or forbid, a bobber.   It’s a bike you can ride every day,  and have a lot of fun with.  I’m a 67 year old life-long m/c mechanic.  My family owned Spitzie’s Motorcycle Center in Albany, New York State for over 75 years. The bike has new Dunlop tires.  To protect the originality of the bike I use the points ignition system  I lubed the mechanical advance rod, lubed the advance weights and installed new return springs.  New points and plugs.  New O.E.M. ignition coils.  New battery,  Every connection cleaned and light lubed with dielectric grease.  The bike has a hot blue spark and fires right up and idles well.   Also, because it’s easy, I disassembled the carburetors and gave them a cleaning and installed new carb kits.  I cleaned the fuel tank, installed new filters and hoses and clamps.    Of course an oil change as well.  The bike is ready to go!  The bike has never been laid down, not even a garage tip over.  It does not leak a drop of oil, never has.  The bike starts, runs and rides like it should. It has both electric start and kick start.   18,150 miles on it but I’ll be riding it some until it sells.  It is a spirited fun bike to ride.  The 650 parallel twin is snappy and strong.  It truly is a bike to be proud of.  And keep in mind a bike like this STOCK XS 650 will gain in value, that is a given.  The Yamaha XS 650 is widely known as a very dependable, well built machine.
