Once upon a time this was a 1981 Honda GL 500. One of the ugliest motorcycles to roll off any assembly line. I started it and you can finish to your taste and style. Bike is in primer and ready for you to pick the color and seat upholstery or ride as is. When I first got this bike, it was so ugly I knew I had to do something cool with it. You will notice that the rear frame section is slightly modified to expose the battery and carb filters. The huge ugly stock kickstand was cut down to better fit the style of the new café racer design. Seat loop was removed to accommodate the new aluminum seat box. A Honda CX fuel tank was modified to fit the GL frame (no dents and ready for paint). The front fender is the original unit just cut down. Side covers and seat box are raw sanded aluminum polished with oil, again you can use as is or paint to your taste. Any wiring that was modified has been soldered with heat shrink and stock wiring connections. Overall the bike is very clean with no rusty nuts or bolts. Front & rear tires are new with only a few test miles on them. Battery is new and both front brake calipers are completely rebuilt with new seals and pistons. Front master cylinder is new as well. Frame paint I touched up and shows very nice. The bike has 45,718 miles and runs and sounds great (see video). The bike does not have a horn or a rear-view mirror. As with most bikes of this vintage it is a little cold blooded at start up but runs great when warmed up. I did not jet the carbs when I added the new mufflers, but revs nice and runs great, however may be a little easier to start if jetted. The bike has been in heated storage for about 10 years so I would put about 100 miles on it before I made any carb changes. All electrics work as they should with the exception of the temp gauge.
