XS650 Yamaha started out as TX650.  It was Yamaha’s first foray into 4 stroke motorcycles. The Japanese were quick to pickup on the design which was sold to them.
While continuing with the traditional 360 degree crankshaft for the smooth torque and wonderful sound of the British twins, these were upgraded with two technologically important details; an overhead chain driven camshaft and horizontally split crankcase which did away with a separate oil tank and most importantly oil leaks.
The bike was further developed and refined over the years. The production run of over 12 years is a testament to the great design which was not only loved by its owners but embraced by the aftermarket.
Today almost every ancillary part can be had by several aftermarket giants one of which was named for specializing in the model; Mike’s XS.
This particular bike has been treated to some refined upgrades but is completely stock underneath in case the owner wants to take it back to stock. NOTHING HAS BEEN CUT CHOPPED OR COBBLED.
Furthermore in true British Cafe Racer Tradition, the sound of this bike is absolutely delicious and the stock mufflers are quite audible without being offensive. This Particular bike is a very nice original example that I picked up some years ago to use as a “runway model” for my product line (Legendary-Motorcycles). I’ve made a number of refinements to enhance the looks but nothing was chopped or removed that would prevent the bike from being taken back to stock trim… This is a very nice low mile example of the latest model of refinements Yamaha offered for this model such as front and rear disc brakes and mag wheels. Is it worth the asking price?…Lets take out the calculator and do the math…
