I restored and customized this 1971 R75/5 a few years ago and have ridden it only a few hundred miles since. The R75/5 is the best of all the R series because it has the retro look of the R50 and R60 but some modern functionality such as the electric start of the later models (it has a kick start too). The customizations focused on pure lines, simplicity, and aggressive look.
The bike is in excellent shape. To make sure that the new owner gets a well functioning motorcycle, the bike was recently tuned by Black Kat Motorwerks in Los Angeles.
The bike had a lot of custom work done. Too much to list but anyone who knows these bikes will recognize the extensive amount of work done and the attention to detail.Stainless steel spokes, restored speedo from Palo Alto Speedometers, shorten sub frame, water buffalo leather custom saddle, air box cancelled with custom aluminum plate for the battery, custom aluminum front fender, and much more. The shorty pipes are loud and you may elect to replace them at some point, but as they say “loud pipes save lives”.
This is a truly bad ass R75 that is a real piece of art that turns heads wherever it goes.
Located in Los Angeles near The Grove/ Farmers market. Easy to show.
Payment to be made by cashiers check in person before the bike can be picked-up. It will be sad to see this go but I just don’t ride enough anymore.
